Royal Gorge Trips
The Royal Gorge section of the Arkansas River is the ultimate in whitewater rafting! You get great class III to V whitewater. Combine this with rafting through an 1100 ft. deep gorge and you have one of the best rafting trips available anywhere in America. Along with the great rafting and scenery you can plan to treat yourself to our famous Buffalo Joe's Steak Dinner, (chicken or veggie available) with corn on the cob, salad, watermelon, and dessert. We start the trip by rafting through Bighorn Sheep Canyon. This eleven mile section of river has seven class III rapids to warm you up for the class IV and V rapids of the Royal Gorge. This canyon also has one of the largest Bighorn Sheep populations anywhere in the state of Colorado. Many of our trips are rewarded with up close views of these elusive creatures, so don't forget your camera. After lunch it is into the Royal Gorge where you will be challenged by such rapids as Sledgehammer, Sunshine, Pipeline, the Grateful Dead, and the Narrows. Overall you will have 10 class III - V rapids that will challenge even the most experienced rafter. This is a challenging section of river and we recommend that all guests be in good physical condition and are able to swim. A Royal Gorge half day is the ultimate in Colorado whitewater! Rafters in this section can plan to run ten epic class III - V rapids including Sledgehammer, Sunshine, Grateful Dead, and the Narrows. You will also explore the 1100 ft. deep canyon created by the Arkansas River. We have daily departures of this trip at 8:45 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. All participants are recommended to be in good physical condition and able to swim. Recommended minimum age is 14. Participants must have previous experience on class III whitewater. *Group discounts start at 8 and for groups over 10 the group organizer rafts for free.*
This trip gives you two shots at the Royal Gorge in one day! Experience the rapids in the morning, then repeat the fun in the afternoon. A double dip is the MOST WHITEWATER THAT WE OFFER IN ONE DAY! You will see Sledgehammer, Sunshine, Pipeline, the Grateful Dead, and the Narrows twice. Included is the famous Buffalo Joe's Steak Dinner to make sure you have enough energy for your second trip through the Gorge! All participants must have prior class III whitewater experience and we recommend that all guests be in good physical condition and are able to swim. Big Horn Sheep Canyon Full Day
The Parkdale full day is the perfect trip for someone with young children or a group who is looking for a trip with mild whitewater and the famous Buffalo Joe's Steak Dinner. The first half of this trip is spent in Upper Bighorn Sheep Canyon. There are several class II and two class III rapids before lunch. After lunch we go into the Lower Bighorn Sheep Canyon where many of our trips are rewarded with the sight of these elusive creatures. Big Horn Sheep Canyon Half Day
This trip is also offered as a half day. We run the lower Bighorn Sheep Canyon and you can expect eight class III rapids to fill your trip. Don't forget your camera because many trips are rewarded with a sighting of Bighorn Sheep.
